Exact position

Right (staff spaces) Down (staff spaces)

Negative values move left or up. Each arrow moves the note a quarter of a staff space. Positions are retained in native projects and image exports.

Note playback

Velocity (0 to 127) Sound length (% written length)

Applies to selected notes and all pitches in each chord. For ties, the first note sets velocity and the last note sets the release length. MusicXML carries velocity; sound-length percentages stay in the native project and are reported at export.
